Reasons for the boycott
AFA asked Pepsi to remain neutral in the culture war, but the company refused — choosing to support the homosexual activists.
Pepsi has made no effort to hide their support for the homosexual agenda:
- American Family Association asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war and not support the homosexual
agenda. PepsiCo refused. The company continues to give financial support to homosexual organizations. PepsiCo
gave $500,000 to Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and another $500,000 to the Parents, Families and Friends of
Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The total of $1,000,000 was used to help promote homosexuality in the workplace.
HRC and PFLAG were major supporters of efforts to defeat Proposition 8 in California, which defined marriage as
being between a man and a woman. HRC gave $2.3 million to the effort to defeat Prop 8.
- PepsiCo requires all employees to attend sexual orientation and gender identity diversity training where they are taught to accept homosexuality.
- PepsiCo helped sponsor the TV program Family Guy which pushs the homosexual agenda and denigrates Christ. In
one episode, at a straight meeting, a speaker talks with gays about Jesus and tells them, "Jesus Christ, who hates
many people, but none more than homosexuals."
- PepsiCo supports homosexual publications, which feature page after page of nude and semi-nude photos of men in
suggestive positions, with advertising.
- PepsiCo gave thousands of dollars to join the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, an organization
that lobbies for homosexual marriage.
- PepsiCo sponsors "gay pride" parades across America, including New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix and Cleveland.
- PepsiCo, while promoting the homosexual agenda, refuses to give one penny to help those trapped in this
destructive and unhealthy lifestyle.

Frequently Asked Questions regarding the PepsiCo boycott
What is the boycott about?
PepsiCo, as a company, is financially supporting homosexual groups whose activities include promoting homosexuality in the marketplace, in the public square, and in lobbying for same-sex marriage. Examples are gay pride parades, aggressively pushing elected public officials to approve gay marriage, and conferences designed to expand social acceptance of the lifestyle.
Is there a difference between PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation?
The PepsiCo Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the PepsiCo Company. While many cash donations to gay groups comes through its foundation, other donations come directly from the general budget. The foundation is operated under the direct authority of PepsiCo.
Doesn't PepsiCo own KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell (YUM! Brands)? Why aren't they included in the boycott?
No. These three restaurant chains were sold by PepsiCo in 2002.
Is PepsiCo owned by the Morman church?
No. PepsiCo is a publicly traded company owned by shareholders. Some members of the Morman church may own shares of PepsiCo stock, but so do people of other faiths.
Shouldn't we boycott restaurants that serve Pepsi products or at least ask them to stop using Pepsi?
AFA is using it's efforts and resources to focus on the boycott against the PepsiCo corporation itself. Restaurants, especially national chains, are contractually obligated to carry Pepsi products. These contracts are usually multi-year contracts and cannot be broken.
Are the Pepsi-Cola distributors a part of PepsiCo?
Yes and No. Forty percent of Pepsi's 95 distribution plants are corporate owned. The other 60% are made up of individual franchises. Franchises, as distributors, are the company's public representatives in areas they do business in.
What about Coke? Don't they do some of the same things?
AFA's boycott efforts are currently being focused on PepsiCo, asking them to remain neutral in the culture war.
